Job Responsibilities
Budget / Research Analyst
The Department of Administration's Executive Budget Office (EBO) is looking for a Budget / Research Analyst to join their team. In this position you will monitor, review, and analyze agency budgets and provide recommendations to EBO management and gubernatorial staff to ensure the Executive Budget is aligned with the priorities established by the Governor's Office.
Responsibilities of the Budget / Research Analyst :
- You will review and analyze agency budget requests and make recommendations to the Executive Budget Office management and staff to ensure recommendations are aligned with the priorities established by the Governor's Office.
- You will perform ad hoc analysis for executive and gubernatorial staffs, as requested, to ensure accurate data is used, recommendations are based on sound reasoning, and requested timelines are met.
- You will gather information, identify analysis methodologies, and prepare, develop, and submit written and graphic reports as assigned by executive or gubernatorial staff. You will track the budget and pertinent legislation throughout the legislative cycle.
- You will conduct routine analysis, to include deficit monitoring, position management, and grants management, to ensure agency operations follow applicable state and federal laws.
- You will work with agencies throughout the year to address fiscal and operational issues. You will review agency programs and processes to develop a thorough understanding of each agency.
- You will process agency budget documents throughout the fiscal year, including special expenditure requests, transfers, FTE Management, etc., to ensure authorized funds are used in the manner prescribed by law.
- You will gather information from agencies as requested for statewide projects and surveys.
- You will assist agencies in the development of performance metrics and analyze the relationship between funding levels and agency activities and performance. You will monitor and evaluate agencies' performance of defined metrics throughout the fiscal year.
- You will perform other assigned duties as required.
