The Department of Commerce is looking for a candidate who is detail-oriented, resourceful, organized, self-motivated, and has experience using Microsoft Office. Experience in the manufacturing sector or supply chain is a plus.
This internship is an opportunity to work for the Business Services Division of the South Carolina Department of Commerce. An intern can expect their primary functions to be working on small projects, assisting with virtual and live events, and helping with CRM (Customer Relationship Management) database, research, and reporting for the South Carolina Department of Commerce.
Responsibilities:
- Assist division teams (Recycling, Supplier Outreach, Small Business, Innovation, Existing Industry, Trade, Emergency Management) with small projects.
- Input information and maintain DOC's Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database.
- Assist with planning or coordinating meetings or events as needed.
- Assist staff with communications with partners inside and outside the division.
- Assist in preparing information and research materials; compile results.
- Create and maintain PowerPoint presentations.
- Take notes during meetings; type documents, drafts, and reports; sort and manage files.
- Participate in team meetings and brainstorming sessions.
Undergraduate or Graduate Student, any major, excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
- Strong academic credentials, with a background in business, supply chain, marketing, and/or sales.
- Excellent oral, written, and communication/presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Office.
- Experience using Customer Relationship Management software preferred.
- Organized, with an ability to prioritize time-sensitive assignments.
School year hours are 10-20 hours per week.
Salary : $32,686 - $60,471
