This position is located at the Department of Mental Health, Patrick B. Harris Psychiatric Hospital, 130 SC-252, Anderson, SC 29621.
As the Building/Grounds Specialist II, working under limited supervision, you will perform a variety of tasks to achieve a neat, orderly and sanitary environment in a designated area of Harris Psychiatric Hospital, according to regulatory standards.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provides floor cleaning and maintenance services, including mopping, sweeping, and vacuuming.
- Cleans and sanitizes bathroom facilities, including fixtures, floors and walls. Replenishes supply of paper products and soap for all bathrooms.
- Cleans patient rooms and living areas, including care of beds, furniture and upholstery.
- Empties trash cans in patient units, office areas and common areas. Cleans trash cans both inside and out. Transports trash to waste compactor according to established procedures.
- Cleans windows and glass doors. Spot cleans window treatments as needed.
- Moves office furniture and patient furniture when necessary for cleaning tasks and setup and takedown for events.
- Responsible for identifying maintenance needs and reporting them to immediate supervisor.
- Maintains competencies in job-related activities such as: MAPS, Hazardous Waste, Blood borne Pathogens, Universal Precautions, and other trainings.
The selected candidate must have the physical ability to bend, stoop, push, pull, lift heavy objects up to fifty (50) pounds and have manual dexterity skills.

Salary : $23,253 - $43,026
