Job Responsibilities
Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Facilities Management, the Director of Facilities Design and Development performs project planning, design development, procurement and installation activities related to the preservation, refurbishment and construction of facilities on the Winthrop University campus.
Oversees the interior design aspects of the university's renovation, refurbishment, construction and relocation projects.
- Finalizes all specifications and handles purchasing and procurement functions.
- Coordinates scheduling of vendors, including movers.
- Oversees installation to ensure project remains true to design.
- Monitors progress to ensure projects remain on track in terms of budget and deadlines.
Oversees the design process for the university's instructional, commercial, residential and recreational spaces in accordance with accepted design aesthetics.
Works on in-house project development and refurbishment in conjunction with Facilities Management staff.
Assists the Associate Vice President with activities related to maintenance and repair of the President's House and other special projects related to the Board of Trustees and special events.
