Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, the Electrician maintains and repairs the university’s electrical power distribution systems and equipment; performs minor elevator repairs; and maintains emergency phone systems and other equipment.

- Installs and repairs all types of electrical equipment.
- Installs all manner of electrical conduits and all related parts/equipment.
- Performs preventive maintenance and diagnostic repair on all electrical equipment/systems.
- Services, maintains and makes minor repairs to elevators.
- Sets up and operates special sound and lighting systems for campus functions.
- High school diploma.
- Two years of professional experience in electrical work.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Knowledge of the tools, equipment, materials and best practices associated with electrical work.
- Ability to follow complex technical instructions and directions.
- Ability to read blueprints and drawings.
- Ability to drive university vehicles.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and supervisors.
- Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather.
- Ability to work nights and weekends in emergency situations.
