What are the responsibilities and job description for the English Tutor (Temporary) position at State of South Carolina?
Provides tutorial assistance to students in English/Writing. Maintains a high level of excellence in tutoring by communicating and interacting effectively with students; implementing best practices in tutoring college student writers; communicating appropriately with instructors in session reports; attending professional development sessions; maintaining currency with learning management systems, online writing resources, documentation systems, and 21st century literacies with which student writers may also need assistance. Completes required paperwork and online records for tutorial sessions.

Bachelor's degree in English or a related area such as Rhetoric; Linguistics; English Education (Secondary); Technical, Professional, or Business Communication or Writing, or other writing-intensive discipline. Current knowledge of Word and documentation systems used in academic writing. Knowledge and ability to tutor APA, MLA, and Chicago writing styles.
Master's degree in English or related areas such as Rhetoric; Linguistics; Creative Writing (MFA); English Education; Technical, Professional, or Business Communication or Writing. Recent experience tutoring or teaching college student writers in a diverse higher education environment.
