About Midlands Regional Center 

Midlands Regional Center is a residential facility of the South Carolina Department of Disabilities and Special Needs located in Columbia, SC serving residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Under direct supervision of the Transportation Supervisor, ensure the daily dispatch and up keep maintenance on all vehicles and reporting is completed in a timely manner. Manage the Fleet of State vehicles leased and owned. Make economical decisions. Report all vehicle accidents and incidents in a timely manner.

Ensure vehicles are in good operating condition and are kept clean and ready to use.


Complete other duties as assigned.

Must have a High School Diploma or GED and a valid South Carolina Driver's License.

Experience in the operation or maintenance of heavy equipment, motorized vehicles or machinery that is directly related to the area of employment. 

Institutions of Higher Learning must be recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.Must have a Valid SC Drivers License and the ability to operate a (15) fifteen passenger van.

Immunization: If this position requires the applicant to work directly with DDSN consumers, a QuantiFERON TB Gold testing must be completed prior to beginning employment. All new employees who are healthcare providers are required to provide documentation of immunity or be immunized against measles, mumps, rubella, pertussis, Varicella and Hepatitis B prior to beginning employment. 

State Disaster Plan: In accordance with the State's Disaster Plan, which includes hazardous weather, DDSN employees may be required to work in times of an emergency or disaster.
