General Maintenance Technician I

General Responsibility
Perform routine maintenance, general repairs, and small scale construction activities. Perform heavy custodial duties including the operation of equipment.
Specific Duties

• Perform light maintenance, routine repairs, and small-scale construction at all SLED facilities to ensure that employees have a safe and secure working environment.
• Assist with custodial duties.
• Perform re-stocking of supplies in all SLED facilities.
• Supervise outside vendors when access to security sensitive areas is required.
• Ensure that all required safety/preventive maintenance activities are performed properly and in a timely manner.

• Must have a High school diploma and minimum of three (3) years professional experience in commercial property maintenance, custodial operations, and construction. 
• Experience performing commercial custodial duties.
• Journey level skills in routine maintenance and extensive custodial operations experience. 
• Position may require work hours other than normal business operating hours and some weekends.
• This position is located at SLED Headquarters campus (4400 Broad River Road) and requires travel to other SLED facilities.
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
