Job Responsibilities
Serves as point of contact for local communities and government agencies in receiving grant reimbursements for disaster recovery projects. Tracks and reconciles grants reimbursement special projects. Exercises judgment and decision-making skills to manage activities associated with one or more special projects and prioritize assigned work for a small, dedicated team. Supervises one to four staff or contract support personnel. Responsible for tracking projects for multiple subrecipients, preparing updates regarding progress, and generating reports on grant management activities. Works independently to conduct reviews of documentation ensuring completeness and compliance with grant provisions and laws, policies and regulations. Reviews or creates basic Excel spreadsheets to organize and evaluate financial data. Makes recommendations based on documentation and specialists' findings and provides clear written explanations. Effectively and consistently communicates with program stakeholders to address discrepancies and identify required documentation. Supports development and implementation of policies, procedures, training, and compliance measures for grant administration. Provides recommendations to leadership on issues that require action or attention. Supports the State Emergency Operations center when activated for training, exercises, or actual emergencies or incidents.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
Bachelor's degree required. Experience in business, personnel, grant or public administration experience preferred. Experience supervising a team responsible for grants management, finance, or reporting functions.
Preferred Qualifications
S.C. Certified Emergency Manager credentials are preferred or will seek to acquire within three years.
Additional Comments
Ability to navigate online systems and processes including databases. Should be proficient with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Microsoft Excel. Must be able to perform a variety of functions while maintaining effective organization of duties. Expectation of travel is less than 20 percent of work hours and may occasionally include overnight travel and working from locations outside Columbia.
