Serves as Crew Leader performing maintenance activities in the absence of the Foreman in Holly Hill. Operates slope mowers (tractor with boom mower) on SCDOT right of way. Operates tractor with large mower, 15' batwing, in cutting grass in SCDOT right of way. Performs manual labor clearing right-of-way to include the use of chain saws, trimmers and hand tools. Coordinates placement of traffic control devices according to SCMUTCD standards to warn motorists of road work ahead. Operates tandem dump truck to haul materials such as stone, dirt, pipe, and limbs. Assists in the loading and unloading of the materials. Assists in emergency and inclement weather operations, to include operating medium or heavy duty equipment. May include being available for extended working hours or 12-hour shifts. Performs on-call for after-hour emergencies. Conducts safety inspections on all assigned vehicles and equipment. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Two (2) years of related work experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence. Necessary Special Requirement: A valid motor vehicle operator’s license is required. Requires attainment of a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within six (6) months of placement in the position.
