This employee will be responsible for developing, maintaining and managing the agency spatial databases.
Job Duties Include
- Supervises staff in entering data into the Natural Heritage database on observed flora and fauna populations for species tracked by the Heritage Trust Program.
- Maintains Heritage Trust GIS user access to data and applications.
- Administers grants and contracts that are relevant to the program.
- Ensures Natural Heritage database is functional and secure with software updates, virus protection, data exchanges and other services.
- Provides Natural Heritage data to SCDNR staff and conservation partners.
- Maintains and updated lists on SCDNR website pertaining to state and federally listed species.
- Serves as an advisor on technical aspects of the database and interpretation of the data.
- Compiles information and creates ESRI GIS maps, tables and reports for users.
- Designs, updates and maintains GIS applications, sighting/survey forms, databases and user interfaces as instructed.
