Job Purpose:
This position serves as a Program Coordinator for the Bureau of Regional and Laboratory Services. You will be performing administrative duties and providing frontline customer service in support of SCDES’ roles and responsibilities for overseeing the protection and preservation of South Carolina’s environment and natural resources.
Job Functions:
- Performs office administrative duties; organize, develop, and implement procedures for recording, routine, sorting, distributing, and filing documentations, reports, correspondence, and administrative forms.
- Assists in all aspects of office business management and financial activities, including SCEIS.
- Serves as the office property custodian and training coordinator.
- Performs personnel processes for the office.
- Serves as the first line of customer service to the public, consultants, developers, and other outside agencies.
- Provides technical assistance and support to assigned program areas.
- A high school diploma or GED, and relevant program experience.

- Ability to successfully complete prescribed technical coursework and pass any test relevant to the position within the probationary period or trial period.
- Experience with SCEIS procurement and/or government purchasing practices.
- Experience using a government purchase card.
- Data management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
