What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mental Health Clinician - Adults position at State of South Carolina?
With our Agency's mission to support the recovery of people with mental illnesses, we provide a complete array of medical and support services for children, adults, and families throughout South Carolina.
This position is located at the Department of Mental Health, Coastal Empire Community Mental Health Center, 507 Forest Circle, Walterboro, SC 29488.
Provides Recovery-oriented services such as assessment, individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy, and crisis intervention, and other services on an as-needed basis to an identified population of consumers with severe and persistently mental illnesses.
In providing case management services, coordinates with local agencies, develops relationships with families and consumers, liaisons with other service providers, liaisons with in-patient facilities, and assists in development of discharge plans. Coordinates with other mental health center staff in planning and delivering these services.
Attends and participates in staffings with clinical treatment teams. Staffs cases with staff psychiatrists to ensure all records of treatment are available for treatment planning and service delivery. Participates in regular supervision with direct supervisor which addresses administrative, case management, and clinical issues.
Documents all contacts with consumers, families, significant others and agencies, according to all Quality Assurance Standards.
Assists in developing and facilitating necessary housing, financial platforms, and other resources to meet needs and preferences of consumers by referrals to care coordination services, IPS services, Peer Support Services, Housing services, and other specialty programs as appropriate in relation to identified needs.
Performs other job-related duties in support of the Center’s mission as assigned by supervisor.
Coastal Empire CMHC is an approved site of the National Health Service Corps (NHSC), which offers student loan repayment of up to $50,000.00 to employees of NHSC- approved sites. You must be a US Citizen, you must be licensed to practice independently in the state where you are hired and you must have unpaid government or commercial school loans. There is a two year service commitment required as well. Confirmation of qualifying for this loan repayment program is the responsibility of every applicant - we cannot guarantee your qualification.
