What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mental Health Professional I/Supervisor of Multi-Dimensional Family Therapy (MDFT) position at State of South Carolina?
Multidimensional Family Therapy (MDFT) is a family-centered, evidence-based, comprehensive treatment for teens and young adults. The MDFT program provides home and community-based services to teens and young adults and their families. MDFT provides individual adolescent, parent, and family sessions to address youth substance use, delinquency, antisocial and aggressive behaviors, mental health disorders and school problems. MDFT improves parental and family functioning in an effort to prevent out-of-home placement. This position will be responsible for providing therapeutic services to those identified families. Training in MDFT by model developers will be provided.
This position will provide supervision to the Community Based Services (CBS) program and staff of the Anderson-Oconee-Pickens Mental Health Center, assess the needs of the programs, provide necessary planning, and facilitate implementation of services and direct staff to provide necessary services.
1. Supervise and manage the Community-Based Program, ensuring the smooth and efficient overall operation of this program. Supervises weekly treatment team meetings and provides group/individual supervision, directs staff in developing treatment plans for patients. Completes EPMS evaluations on subordinate staff. Must obtain and maintain MDFT Supervisor certification. Must maintain a valid South Carolina Driver’s License.
2. Maintains records, charts and report information in accordance with Q.A. and MDFT guidelines. Regularly audit Electronic Medical Records of charts assigned to subordinate staff. Provide necessary training and supervision to maintain Q.A. and MDFT Standards.
3. Provides education services to AOP-MHC as well as public and private groups regarding services. Serves as a liaison between DMH and the community. Maintain positive relationships with school officials and other community agencies.
4. Provides evidence-based interventions and treatment services to identified patients and families. This will include but limited to: Individual, Group and Family therapy.
5. Keep Supervisor informed of current needs and or changes in CBS/MDFT Program.
6. Perform other duties as required.
State Requirement: A master’s degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences or a related field.
Center Preferred: A master’s degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences or a related field and one year postmaster degree experience which does not include internship(s). Also demonstrated leadership or supervision experience.Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.

Salary : $51,039 - $72,134
