Job Duties:
- The Network Administrator provide support and maintenance of DSS network infrastructure, including local area networks at county sites, wireless access support, monitoring and support of agency switches; provides assistance to program or county locations to plan and implement office relocations and renovations, improvements for network wiring, including data cabling, wireless network installation, and infrastructure support to vendors on contract for access systems and video surveillance solutions. Maintains records of infrastructure equipment and replacement plans in consultation with DTS team leads.
- Serves as main point of contact for contracted network infrastructure vendors for access control, access points, routers, switches, video surveillance, and wiring.
- Designs, installs, implements and maintains all layers of network infrastructures to include LAN, wireless access, cabling, switches, routers, etc. for voice and data networks statewide. Schedules installation and upgrades of the data and voice networks statewide.
- Works with Internal Operations to implement moves, additions, and changes to the data and voice network equipment statewide. Includes project management and planning for implementing and updating Agency site infrastructure.
- Updates floor plans for the department.
- Performs administrative tasks related to Agency communication networks, including but not limited to problem tracking, and documentation of issue resolutions, procedures, and usage reports. Complete work requests as assigned to resolve problems in a timely manner, providing courteous service delivery of end user technology. Helps to establish standards and operating procedures to include those for reporting and resolving problems and for the implementation of solutions and changes.
- Performs other duties as directed.
- Performs Red Cross shelter duty or other emergency shelter duty and services as directed.
