NOC Technician

Duration : 12 Months contract with possible extension

Daily Duties / Responsibilities:

• Monitors, tests, maintains, and repairs network and infrastructure elements for Clemson CCIT. Monitors Clemson network, server, and application elements, resolves incidents and service requests, and/or consults with the subject matter expert team for incident resolution. Applies state-of-the-art technology to meet and improve the network control center.
• Controls network and system processing. Responds to customer inquiries and alerts via emails, incoming calls, and walk-ins. Conducts routine inspections on equipment and reports any abnormalities. Performs other operational duties as assigned, such as meetings, project work, administration, and facilities requirements.
• Configures network and system resources and maintains corresponding system records and documentation. Provides Tier II support as per SME agreements. Performs periodic maintenance and monitoring of computer systems. Performs pre-configured port activations on network switches. Assists with implementing network automation tools.
• Prepares and reviews documentation for use in operations, training, and knowledge base. Participates in training and cross-training for Tier II. Provides customer service for all information and/or telecommunication network systems support areas.
