Job Responsibilities The South Carolina Department of Agriculture's (SCDA's) Pee Dee Farmers Market is seeking a part-time Events & Marketing Coordinator. The Pee Dee State Farmers Market is situated on almost 50 acres of once rural farmland and is located on US Highway 52, convenient to Interstates I-95 and I-20. Open year round, the Market showcases some of the state's freshest and finest produce and has also become a prime location for the ornamental horticulture and floriculture industry. The Market hosts several events throughout the year such as spring and fall flower shows, produce tastings, car shows, and holiday themed family events. As the part-time Events & Marketing Coordinator your role would include duties such as : Planning, coordinating and execution of the semiannual plant and flower shows.Assisting with planning, coordinating, marketing and execution of other Market events.Communicating Market news and events to the SCDA Marketing Departments.Assisting with creating social media content for the Market.Coordinating with Market vendors to ensure successful Market events.Developing new events with the support of outside businesses, agencies, and news organizations.Assist with providing administrative support to Market Manager and market initiatives. Minimum and Additional Requirements A high school diploma and relevant work experience.An associate's degree, with courses in business, marketing or events, may be substituted for the required work experience.Additional Comments Position is approximately 20 hours per week, with flexible scheduling.Must be able to work up to 8 Saturdays and 2 Sundays each calendar year.Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to multi-task with several on-going projects and meet deadlines.Must have a strong customer service work ethic. Attention to detail and organization skills are a must.Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and walk / stand for long periods during events.
