JOB PURPOSE:
This position assists in managing SCETV productions in the studio and remote locations. This includes work with
the Producer/Director/Client to design and execute lighting designs for a project. Support for set design and building is also required. This position also maintains proper storage and repair of set and lighting equipment.
JOB DUTIES:
Works with Producer/Director/client to design a lighting concept for projects. Provides creative support that brings to life the overall visual mood and atmosphere for the project. Executes designs in a timely manner to meet the deadlines set forth in production schedule and adhere to project budgets. This includes studio lighting, lighting for remote productions, and field lighting when necessary. Supports regional studios, when requested, for lighting of set design.
Works with Producer/Director/client to select set pieces from ETV inventory to achieve the desired look for the production. Orders/creates those elements to meet production deadline and budget parameters. Works with EFP to load in the pieces for the set in a timely manner. Supports regional studios, when requested, for set design support.
Keeps lighting for studio and field up to date with any updates or lamp replacements. Keeps sufficient inventory on hand for changing out lamps where applicable. Serves as consultant for lighting purchases for studio and field lighting.
Works with Producer/Director/client to design sets if ETV inventory is not available to achieve the desired look for the production. Creates budget, drawings, or model for final approval. Creates adequate timeline for purchasing materials, building the necessary elements for final approval by Producer/Director/client.
Other duties as required, to include ancillary support for productions and SCETV/SC Public Radio events.A bachelor's degree and experience in radio or television programming, production or engineering.
