Job Responsibilities
Serves as Deputy Director of South Carolina National Guard’s STARBASE Swamp Fox Program. Has the dual function of both administrator and classroom instructor. Assist the Program Director with the day-to-day operation of the STARBASE program. Reviews all federal and state regulations and policies on program operation and ensures DoD instructional curriculum is implemented as mandated. Develops and implements appropriate educational curriculum. Maintains inventory of all accountable STARBASE assets as required by state and/or federal regulations and guidelines. Oversees purchases of classroom and office equipment and supplies. Serves as an instructor for the STARBASE Program. Serves as Program Director in their absence.
Minimum And Additional Requirements
A bachelor’s degree and work experience that is directly related to the area of employment.
Preferred Qualifications
Active, retired or former member of the South Carolina Air/Army National Guard; a current or former South Carolina Military Department Employee in good standing with the agency.
Additional Comments
Knowledge of laws, regulations, policies and procedures relevant to the area of employment. Knowledge of academic STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) curriculum at the Elementary and/or Middle School levels. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and effective communication with associates, school teachers/administrator, elementary/middle school students and military personnel associated with the STARBASE program.
