What are the responsibilities and job description for the Retention Counselor position at State of South Carolina?
The full-time temporary grant Retention Counselor, funded by the DOL Strengthening Community Colleges grant initiative, will focus on working with Advanced Manufacturing and Nursing Pathway student participants from credit, continuing education, and K-12 Career and Technical Education to ensure that students' progress along the College’s career pathway opportunities. A bachelor's degree preferred (2) years’ experience in student services programs. A Master’s degree is preferred. A minimum of two years’ experience in an academic environment, firsthand experience with youth or adult career programming and/or working with first-generation students. Minimum of two years of case management experience working with youth and adults, career development facilitator certification, preferred. The position is funded by DOL through February 2027.
