Job Duties :
- The Director of the Office of Safety administers the following Child Welfare Services Programs : Child Protective Services (Intake, Investigations); Family Preservation, Out of Home and Abuse Neglect, Assessment and Planning Team and Human Trafficking Support Team.
- Oversees and administers the state intake hub reporting program, Family Preservation Program, the Out-of-Home Abuse and Neglect program, Human Trafficking Support Team and Assessment and Planning Program.
- Ensures program related policies are developed, reviewed, and updated on a regular basis.
- Provides supervision of staff ensuring they are equipped to effectively perform job responsibilities.
- Using relevant data and reports, implements continuous quality improvement processes toward the achievement of safety, permanency, and well-being for children and families.
- Drafts and compiles strategic and accountability reports related to programs and services administered by the Child Welfare Services Division.
- Provide Child Welfare Services knowledge and expertise to external stakeholders to include but not limited to, serving as a member of the Children's Justice Act Task Force.
- Maintains expert knowledge of federal and state laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and best practice standards related to Child Welfare Services
Minimum and Additional Requirements
A Master's Degree and three (3) years of experience in any combination of social work, management, business administration, administrative services or public administration; or a Bachelor's Degree and five (5) years of experience in any combination of social work, management, business administration, administrative services or public administration.
