Job Responsibilities
The CAREERS (College Activities Reap Educational Experiences Resulting in Success) Student Services Program Coordinator I is responsible for providing support services to CAREERS Program participants to include: advising and counseling, assisting with the screening and enrollment process, and orientation sessions, in additional to administrative duties. Serves as a contact for current participants of the CAREERS Program. Provides expert level customer service to program participants. Advises and counsels participants on matters related to academic, vocation and support services.
Promotes student success through the exploration, identification and coordination of support services. Assists with the screening, selection, and enrollment process of potential CAREERS participants. Assists with orientation sessions. Keys participant's information in the CAREERS database. Assists with case management, advises students on program requirements and follows up with students regarding necessary program documentation etc. Develops and conducts professional development workshops and/or activities. Assists with classroom presentations and other college venues/events to promote awareness. Assists with the CAREERS childcare process by ensuring documents are maintained in participants tangible and electronic files. Collaborates with Procurement for creation of Blanket Orders (BO) as needed. Serves as the CAREERS equipment inventory manager for Beltline and Airport Campuses, and utilizes various software programs to enhance program efficiency by creating applicable documents for program events/activities, and scheduling virtual meetings/events/activities.
Assists CAREERS and TRiO Programs Director with the preparation and writing of the Perkins Grant and applicable monthly reports. Performs other duties as assigned by the CAREERS and TRiO Programs Director. Must maintain confidentiality of client records. Position requires a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, ethical standards, and communication skills. Some evening and/or weekend work may be required. Work hours and location may vary. Travel between MTC campuses may be required. Reports to the Director of CAREERS and TRiO Programs.

Minimum And Additional Requirements
A Bachelor's Degree.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience working in student services. Excellent grammar and communications, skills both written and oral. Computer skills are essential i.e. Microsoft Office Suite etc. Ability to exercise judgment and discretion. Ability to work with diverse groups. Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Must have excellent human relations and motivational skills. Functions with established guidelines, and independently in the execution of daily tasks using judgment in interpretation and application of policies and general guidelines.
