In the Upstate Regional Production Group, develops stormwater management studies to document stormwater property impacts. Designs complex roadway drainage design projects, including large culverts, ditches, energy dissipaters, and large storm sewer systems. Analyzes all types of one-dimensional bridge projects using computer models, including unsteady flow analyses and complex bridge crossings with multiple openings. Computes scour profiles for all bridges in the model.
Utilizes the Rational Method, TR-55 method, and USGS regression equations for hydrologic design as appropriate. Performs FEMA studies, "no-rise" certifications, and CLOMRS. Designs sediment and erosion control devices, including sediment dams, ditch liners, and inlet structure filters.
Utilizes advanced design techniques such as Log Pearson, urban regression equations, and hydrograph development to obtain flood data from all sources, including stream gages. Performs complex flood routings, detention pond and sediment basin design using appropriate computer programs.
Reviews consultant hydraulic studies and plans, and assists in monitoring consultant contracts. Applies NPDES and permitting requirements in completing projects. Assists in preparing Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans for the NOI process. Performs other related duties as assigned.
A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Science and Management and four (4) years of engineering or construction management work experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence. A valid motor vehicle operator's license is required.The physical demands for the essential functions involves sitting or standing at a desk for extended periods of time. This position may require occasional travel. May require bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, climbing, balancing, and kneeling. Walking for extended periods, treading rough terrain, working in close proximity to motoring traffic, and in natural environmental hazards.
