Who We Want
The Division of Child Support is looking to recruit a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounting Supervisor to oversee the financial aspects of our child support program. The Accounting Supervisor is a leadership level position within the Division assisting in providing strategic direction for the child support program.
Duties
This position will play a key role in managing financial processes, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, and providing leadership to the accounting team. The primary duties include:

The Division of Child Support is looking to recruit a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounting Supervisor to oversee the financial aspects of our child support program. The Accounting Supervisor is a leadership level position within the Division assisting in providing strategic direction for the child support program.
Duties
This position will play a key role in managing financial processes, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, and providing leadership to the accounting team. The primary duties include:
- Daily management of the State Disbursement Unit ensuring accurate and timely processing and disbursement of more than $100 million per year in child support payments made through a variety of payment channels;
- Managing the preparation and review of financial reports related to child support collections, arrears, and disbursements;
- Developing and implementing program policies and procedures to ensure the Division operates in compliance with federal and state regulations as well as Department goals and objectives;
- Analyzing and evaluating data for program improvement and to ensure cost effectiveness;
- Supervising, training, and supporting a team of accounting professionals, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment;
- Performing audits and reconciliations of accounts to ensure accuracy and prevent fraud or discrepancies;
- Providing customer service and technical expertise to employers, payors of support and other partners to resolve complex child support accounting issues; and,
- Providing guidance to internal and external stakeholders regarding child support accounting policy.
- knowledge of accounting principles and practices;
- knowledge of child support practices, laws, and regulations (preferred but not required);
- experience working with financial software and databases as well as standard office computers and equipment;
- excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills;
- ability to lead and motivate a team while fostering a positive and productive work environment;
- exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting;
- strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal teams, external partners, and customers; and,
- ability to interpret federal and state regulation, court orders and other legal documents (preferred but not required).
