Minimum Salary: $21.66 (Non-engineering students) and $24.42 (Engineering students)
Interns will be involved in a variety of engineering related activities performed in support of design, construction, or maintenance of state highway construction projects. Interns will further their knowledge and abilities in the civil engineering field. Specific duties may include participating on a survey crew, materials testing, project inspection, data collection and verification, or other engineering related activities. Duties are primarily performed outdoors and are physical in nature.
Intern will work 50-60 hours per week, sometimes more or less, depending on project workload.
Qualifications
Applicant must be enrolled as a part-time/full-time student at a college, university, or technical institute at the time they apply. By the start of the internship, the student should have completed one year (nine months) of their chosen program.
All students are encouraged to apply, but preference may be given to applicants with a standing of junior/senior, South Dakota residents, and students of South Dakota institutions.

- APPLICANT MUST BE A CURRENT PART-TIME OR FULL-TIME STUDENT (MINIMUM OF 6 CREDIT HOURS) IN UPCOMING SEMESTER OR IN THE IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING SEMESTER.
