Pheasantland Industries is a non-funded state program within the South Dakota Department of Corrections designed to enhance an inmate's ability to lead a productive life upon release from prison. The focus of the program is to increase employment opportunities for inmates by producing high quality goods and services for other state agencies and non- profit organizations. These businesses include custom furniture, cabinetry, upholstery, printing services, signage, vehicle decals, book binding, Braille transcription, license plates, machinery, garment production, screen printing and data entry services.
Position Description
This position works full or part time with the Pheasantland Industries staff on development and execution of a marketing plan to commercialize the goods and services offered by businesses within Pheasantland Industries. Duties include promotion of goods and services to the public, making calls to potential clients, processing paperwork and other duties as assigned.
We are looking for someone passionate about social media and marketing. The right person would be assisting with building our social media presence, supporting print and email campaigns, and attending conferences to build our client base. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience.

Responsibilities
- Social Media Management: Create and manage social media pages, develop content, and engage with followers to increase brand awareness.
- Marketing Support: Assist in designing and executing print and email marketing campaigns.
- Conference and Event Support: Find conference opportunities, attend events to network and promote services.
- Market Research: Analyze industry trends and help re-define strategies.
- General Support: Help with day-to-day marketing tasks and brainstorming new client engagement ideas.
- Passion for marketing, social media, and business development.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with social media platforms.
- Basic knowledge of email marketing tools and design software.
- Ability to travel if needed.
- Applicant must be a full-time student at a college, university, or technical institute at the time they apply.
