The park manager interns will be working with district supervisor and park manager, volunteers, and other seasonal staff to learn all aspects of the operations and maintenance of Pelican Lake, Sandy Shore, and Lake Cochrane Recreation Areas. Essential duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: public relations and park rule enforcement, permits sales and auditing, fee collection, data collection for end of the month reports, operation of mowers, operation of hand and power tools, assisting with special event planning and programing, and assisting Naturalist with programming. Intern will assist in facility and grounds maintenance projects, maintenance of equipment, facility sanitation, and administrative duties.
Qualifications
Applicant must be enrolled as a part-time/full-time student at a college, university, or technical institute at the time they apply. By the start of the internship, the student should have completed one year (nine months) of their chosen program.
All students are encouraged to apply, but preference may be given to applicants with a standing of junior/senior, South Dakota residents, and students of South Dakota institutions.

- APPLICANT MUST BE A CURRENT PART-TIME OR FULL-TIME STUDENT (MINIMUM OF 6 CREDIT HOURS) IN UPCOMING SEMESTER OR IN THE IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING SEMESTER.
