Job Summary
The Public Health Preparedness Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for managing the state's medical countermeasure preparedness and response activities. This position will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient distribution, deployment, and utilization of medical countermeasures in response to public health emergencies, including pandemics, natural disasters, and bioterrorism events. The Coordinator will work in close collaboration with federal, state, and local agencies, and private sector partners to support ongoing public health emergency preparedness efforts.
This position will oversee the inventory, storage, and maintenance of Strategic National Stockpile assets within the state, ensuring readiness for rapid deployment during emergencies. During public health emergencies, this position will manage orders and allocations of inventory distribution to the appropriate agencies and healthcare facilities. The Coordinator will oversee the maintenance and purchase of items and services needed for the upkeep of inventory and warehouse space and may participate in federal grant activities, creating project proposals and managing activity completion and budgeting.
The Public Health Preparedness Logistics Coordinator serves on a team that works to ensure proficient public health and healthcare preparedness and response to public health emergencies and/or emergencies with health implications. The main job duties for this position are newly developed and may be adjusted over time. After the first six months, this position may have the opportunity to work from home intermittently based on duties and work-load.

- Forklift certification preferred, but not required.
- Ability to drive a pickup, pull a trailer, and back up to a trailer preferred, but not required.
- Strong organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in developing and maintaining standard operating procedures and preparedness plans.
- Experience in local and/or state public health preparedness.
- Experience with conducting table-top, functional and/or full-scale plan exercises.
