The Region Operations Technician (Beautification and Billboards) is responsible for maintaining the accuracy of sign, billboard, and junkyard data; customer compliance with Federal and State outdoor advertising and junkyard laws; and environmental outreach programs such as Adopt-A-Highway activities along State highways throughout the Aberdeen Region. This position is also responsible for the procurement and inventory of sign equipment, equipment parts, and materials for the Aberdeen Region.
Occasional in-state travel with overnight stays may be required.
Work assignments are frequently performed outside and around highway traffic.
A valid driver license is required.
What You Bring To The SDDOT
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
A 2-year technical degree in civil engineering technology, engineering/architectural drafting, a vocational technical degree in a related field, or a 4-year Construction Management degree; and, experience in overseeing compliance of outdoor advertising and/or procurement and inventory of equipment, equipment parts, and materials related to signage and billboards.
