Job Overview :
This classification is responsible for overseeing central office program direction and technical consultation for a small to mid-size division or specific program area within the agency.
This classification differs from the DCS Executive Director 2 in that the latter oversees a large division or a more complex program area within the agency.
Key Responsibilities :
- Set departmental programmatic, administrative goals, long-term policies and agendas.
- Provide oversight and project management to assignments within the department by coordinating activities between directors and monitoring outcomes; strategically aligning initiatives for maximum program impact.
- Provide leadership in creative problem solving, implementation of initiatives, programs, policy changes, and new laws. Investigate and review complaints, provide feedback, and engage staff to resolve barriers or issues.
- Represent agency on appropriate commissions, task forces, panels, councils and other committees and organizations.
Minimum Qualifications :
Graduation from an accredited college of university with a bachelor's degree and experience equivalent to five-seven years of professional work in the designated program area and at least three-five years of supervisory experience.
