Job Description
Join our team to help improve lives and create a safer Utah. The Caseworker Specialist II position is a Licensed Caseworker Position requiring a SSW, SUDC or ASUDC license. CWS IIs on our team provide evidence based, individualized services to individuals who are supervised by the Utah Department of Corrections.
This is a full time position with state employee benefits. The wage is $30.27 hourly.
CWS IIs teach classes and counseling groups, provide substance use assessments, engage in counseling services, and provide case management services to our clients. You will be an important piece of a multidisciplinary team working to improve the lives of our clients, reduce their criminogenic risk factors, and increase their abilities to remain drug free. Positions are in our secure prison facilities and in community treatment centers throughout the state.

Candidate Must Have One Of The Following Licenses
- Substance Use Disorder Counselor (SUDC)
- Advanced Substance Use Disorder Counselor (ASUDC)
- Social Service Worker (SSW)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor level degree in a social science field
- Experience providing services to clients with substance use disorders
- Experience providing services to justice involved individuals
- Effective teaching and counseling skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of substance use assessments
- Knowledge of criminogenic risk factors and assessments
Examples of Duties
- Provides psycho-educational classes and groups.
- Provides relapse prevention counseling services
- Conducts substance use and criminogenic risk assessments
- Coordinates efforts to find appropriate community resources and services
- Provides case management services directly with clients
- Engages in quality written and verbal communication with clients, the treatment team, community partners, and security personnel
- Maintains accurate documentation of all services provided
- Possibly supervise staff with similar job responsibilities
