We are looking for a caring and motivated Student Life Technician to work with our blind/low vision students in the Residential Program. This position is located in Ogden.

Responsibilities
As a Student Life Technician you will:
- Assist with completing check-in data forms.
- Take an active role in teaching and/or being a part of group lessons.
- Distribute medication and/or medical services when necessary under the direction of the school nurse.
- Observe, evaluate, document, and act upon student behaviors when standards of conduct are broken or not being met.
- Support students in reaching their independent living goals.
- Occasionally assist in transporting students to and from school related activities.
- Work with residential staff to ensure the residential program goals and objectives are met.
- Perform other responsibilities and duties as assigned.
- Organize and carry out residence routines such as grocery shopping, etc.
- This is a part-time position for nine (9) months (181 days) each school year. Work schedule 30 hrs a week, working after school and on Sundays.
Minimum Qualifications
The ideal candidate for this position will possess:
- Ability to efficiently manage time and multiple schedules.

- Initiative to complete tasks independently after being given instructions.
- Ability to follow written and/or verbal instructions.
- Enter, transcribe, record, store, or maintain information in either written or electronic form.
- Excited about working with students with disabilities.
- Positive in their dealings with teachers and other staff.
- Good listeners who follow directions well.
- Respected and trusted by students and parents.
- Willing to be flexible in work tasks and assignments.
- Successful completion of a criminal background check contingent upon employment.

- There are risks found in potentially dangerous or unusual environmental stress situations, e.g. being subject to possible physical attack. Risks are related to the possibility of working with students who are non-compliant, self-abusive, and/or aggressive.
- This position has strenuous physical requirements such as long periods of standing, walking, recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching or similar activities and recurring lifting of students with limited mobility and/or their personal needs equipment. Must be able to lift and carry over fifty (50) pounds.
