Join our dynamic team and become an integral part of one of Utah's premier organizations, the Utah National Guard. We are currently seeking a motivated and dedicated Project Manager I to join our ranks in this entry-level project management position, located within the Utah National Guard.
The Project Manager may review all construction documents and plans to ensure compliance with the State adopted building codes and ADA requirements and accept buildings as code-compliant on behalf of the State.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Project Manager, you will:
- Compile and review information and requests for various projects from directorates and departments regarding capital improvement repair, modernization, and sustainment requirements..
- Recommend project delivery methods and schedules, ensuring alignment with time, cost, and quality constraints.
- Coordinate the activities of design professionals and construction contractors to oversee the timely completion of facilities fassigned projects.
- Monitor and mitigate project risks, developing comprehensive project management plans, including time schedules and procedures.

- assist in the procurement of architectural design services;
- assist in the bidding process and participate in the review and recommendation of the award of construction contracts;
- monitor the progress and performance of construction projects and resolve schedule and budget issues or problems;
- monitor construction quality through project observation services;
- review and make recommendations regarding the approval of construction contract progress payments, change orders, and project scope changes;
- monitor project substantial completion and close-out;
- participate in final inspections;
- ensure all deficiencies are remedied;
- coordinate final acceptance by user agency and/or institution;

The Agency- Manages and coordinates construction projects.
- Participates in the planning, designing, construction and maintenance of facilities.
- Reviews construction proposals/contracts and plans to determine project requirements; assesses feasibility of proposals.
- Obtains and documents quotes/bids; evaluates proposals for specification compliance and makes recommendation of award.
- Monitors and evaluates contract/contractor performance to ensure compliance with contract; recommends action(s) to correct deficiencies.
- Reviews and/or inspects work for quality, accuracy, and completeness.
- Monitors project budget, including revenues, expenditures and budget projection, etc.
- Ensures compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines, etc.
- Approves and implements applicable documents, actions, processes, programs, etc.
- Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, e.g. safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.
- The work may require overnight travel.
- Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile, etc.
- Valid driver license required to drive a motor vehicle on a highway in this state per UCA 53-3-202(1)(a).
Salary : $31 - $50
