The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources (UDWR) is seeking an Information Technician for our front counter at the Salt Lake headquarters. This person will provide hunting, fishing, and other wildlife information to the public who walks or calls into the Salt Lake office. This position will also have the opportunity to work on the division’s drawings, the conservation and Cooperative Wildlife Management Unit (CWMU) program, the hunting expo and disabled Certificates of Registration (CORs). We are looking for a detail-oriented individual, who has great commutation skills and has a passion for all things related to wildlife. If this is you, this is the job for you!

As an information technician, you will:
- Provide exceptional customer service by delivering accurate hunting and fishing information to walk-in and phone inquiries.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with the public and stakeholders.
- Utilize problem-solving skills to address customer needs and act as a liaison between the public and the organization.
- Maintain accurate and efficient record-keeping systems and handle information with attention to detail.
- Demonstrate general office skills.
Required/Minimum Qualifications:
- Exceptional customer service skills and an outgoing personality.
- Proficiency in handling cash and credit card transactions.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to professionally manage phone and in-person inquiries.
- Ability to work effectively independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Demonstrated professionalism and attention to detail.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Familiarity with the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources' programs and mission.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Access, Word) and Google Workspace applications.
- Strong working knowledge of Utah fishing and hunting regulations, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a customer service environment.
- Ability to effectively interpret and communicate information from Utah hunting and fishing guidebooks and proclamations to the public.
- Risks found in a typical office setting which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, e.g. safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations etc.
- Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying light items, driving an automobile/truck etc.
- May require some heavy lifting.
- Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.
- Current valid drivers license is required.
- Typical work schedule is, Monday - Friday, 8 hours a day.
Salary : $17 - $19
