What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Specialist II - Limited Service position at State of Vermont?
The Department of Environmental Conservation has an opportunity for a Financial Specialist II to be a support to the accounts team in our Finance Section within the Administration and Innovation Division. This position will be responsible for processing purchase requests and invoices for the Department, as well as provide support in procurement of goods/commodities. In addition, this position will assist in maintaining appropriate fiscal controls, follow uniform federal and state guidance with ensuring all procurement is done in compliance with state and federal guidelines. Collaborative teamwork with other units/supervisors/vendors is required on a daily basis and the candidate must have strong interpersonal skills via both verbal and written communications.
The Department of Environmental Conservation currently operates in a hybrid working environment, supporting remote work as well as Core Days in which all staff are in the office. Permission to participate in telework is applied for on an individual basis.

Work is performed in a standard office setting.
Two years or more full-time college coursework in accounting, business administration, office administration or a related field.
OR
Associate's degree in accounting, business administration, office administration or a related field.
OR
Completion of a vocational/technical training program in business, office administration, financial support or related area AND one (1) year or more of experience in accounting, bookkeeping or clerical work involving accounting or financial records.
OR
High School diploma or equivalent AND two (2) years or more of experience in accounting, bookkeeping or clerical work involving accounting or financial records.
OR
One (1) year or more of experience as a Financial Specialist I with the State of Vermont.
For some positions experience working with the VISION system (VISION is the State of Vermont PeopleSoft financial management system) may be required.
