The Public Health Specialist: Overdose Prevention First Responder Coordinator is a position in the Division of Emergency Preparedness, Response, and Injury Prevention. Position is responsible for the oversight, implementation, administration, coordination, and quality control of the Vermont First Responders Emergency Opioid Response Program.
The Vermont Emergency Opioid Response program is working to enhance the vital work of First Responders and communities' ability to safely provide emergency treatment of known or suspected opioid overdoses as well as increase the rate of referrals to treatment and recovery in Vermont rural communities with low access to naloxone and high burden of opioid injury and deaths. This coordinator will be responsible for planning assessment, coordinating plan activities and implementation, monitoring and evaluation, technical assistance and education and quality assurance for the program. Environmental Factors

Minimum Qualifications
Two (2) years or more of experience in public health, human services, emergency response, community engagement, program administration, human services related fields or health-related fields.
OR
Associate degree in public health, public administration, business administration, environmental science, emergency response, human services, social sciences related fields or health-related fields and one (1) year or more of experience in public health, human services, emergency response, community engagement, program administration, human services related fields or health-related fields.
OR
Bachelor's degree in public health, public administration, business administration, environmental science, emergency response, human services, social sciences related fields or health-related fields.
