It is Virginia's only state Mental Health Facility solely dedicated to evaluation and treatment of persons over the age of 65, and older adults. The goal of care is to facilitate discharge to a less restrictive setting by assisting patients to improve and / or maintain their physical, mental and social functioning.The Nursing Department provides 24-hour direct care services to geropsychiatric patients. The goal of care is to facilitate discharge to a less restrictive setting by assisting patients to improve and / or maintain their physical, mental and social functioning. This nursing care goal is achieved in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.This position will provide direct patient care according to individualized treatment care plans. This will include helping patients with activities of daily living and helping patients learn new social and inter-actionable skills in a safe therapeutic environment.Minimum Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License
• Licensure as a Certified Nurse Assistant by the Virginia Department of Health Professions.
• Basic computer knowledgeAdditional Considerations
• Health care experience preferred
• Long Term Care and Nursing Home experience preferred.
• Previous psychiatric experience preferred
• Knowledge of nursing scope of practice preferred
