Job DescriptionWe're currently searching for a Licensed Practical Nurse to join our Schiffert Health Center team in Blacksburg, VA to help us in our mission. So, if you're looking for a healthcare position in a higher education setting, please keep reading.HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THIS ROLE : 1) You'll be joining the Schiffert Health Center team; a department centered on the health and wellbeing of our student population by caring for them in their times of illness or injuries.2) You'll be reporting to the Nurse Supervisor, in a regular twelve-month, 100% university staff appointment.3) You'll be responsible for triage, assisting providers, and patient education. • Licensed to practice nursing as an LPN in the State of Virginia
• Previous experience practicing as a LPN in a medical setting.
• Demonstrated experience with patient assessment / triage
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills with the ability to establish and maintain successful and effective relationships with diverse, multicultural student and staff population while demonstrating empathy to patients.Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working in an outpatient clinical setting
• Previous experience working in a higher education medical / clinical environment
• Computer experience including electronic medical records.
