Facilitates supportive and therapeutic interventions
- Engage in individual patient interactions consistent with treatment team recommendations by understanding patient's individualized treatment plan and applying it appropriately
- Act as liaison between treatment team and direct care staff
- Consistently provide constructive input related to treatment, milieu and clinical issues.
- Serve as positive, professional role model to patients by effectively communicating positive and negative consequences of their behavior choices
- Actively participates in unit community meetings
- Maintain therapeutic boundaries with patients and provide appropriate redirection when overstepping boundaries occurB. Maintains safe andtherapeutic environment
- Monitor, observe, intervene and report any safety issues, including patient and staff behavior, and environmental issues
- Serve as primary resource for direct care staff in patient conflict de-escalation
- Attempts to resolve patient issues on the unit, calling for assistance only when needed.
- Serve as responder during behavioral codes
- Perform safety rounds as ordered by physician and document the rounding in the electronic health record
- Monitor cleanliness of the unit as well as non-working equipment on the unit; report non-working equipment and any safety concerns that can develop from non-sanitary environment to Unit Manager.C. Documentation
- Document all unusual behavior or changes in behavior, and report observations to professional staff
- Ensures all oral and written reports are factual, professional, clear and submitted prior to the end of the shift
- Keeps accurate and timely records for the development of behavioral interventionsD. Collaboration with others
- Maintains cooperative relationship with co-workers and supervisorE. Mandated Training
- Attends all Mandatory in-services
- Complete five hours of in-service to meet learning needs and developmental plan
- Shares learned knowledge and skills with staff members as appropriate
- Assists in monitoring therapeutic activities and / or groups for patients
- Escorts patients to other departments, meals, recreational activities and outside of hospital per protocols and procedure
- Follows established facility policies at all times and as instructed by supervisorMinimum Qualifications
- Ability to use computerized forms for data entry
- Ability to work any assigned post as directed by supervisor.

- Working knowledge of conflict resolution and appropriate implementation of conflict de-escalation techniques
