The Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual to take on the dynamic role as our Guardian Monitoring Support Initiative (GMSI) Regional Coordinator. This is a professional level job that works with minimal supervision and applies independent judgment within specified area of expertise.

Manages participation of diverse stakeholder groups in development, implementation and evaluation of changes to court processes, practices, and staffing to improve the efficiency/effectiveness and integrity of court operations as well as enhance consumer experiences and outcomes.

Salary: Range 64: $74,724 - $98,040 per year (DOQ).

WASHINGTON STATE RESIDENCY AND TELEWORK INFORMATION

AOC requires employees to reside in Washington State. Any exceptions must be approved. If you are invited to interview and currently reside outside of Washington State, seek more information about residency requirements from the AOC hiring manager for this recruitment.

This position requires you to be in the office at least one (1) day per week.

Duties



Some of the duties you will perform are:
  • Develops, implements, monitors and evaluates court program components involving significant impact on judicial policy and procedure.
  • Coordinates activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and directing the work of volunteers.
  • Assist and maintain some project plans (schedule, resources, risk, issues); applies project management methodology & best practices to achieve optimal results from each project.
  • Works with local/regional educational institutions to arrange for student volunteers with backgrounds in financial, legal, medical, social services, and other related fields.
  • Provides staff support to judicial and court administrative associations that include: preparing correspondence, drafting policies and procedures, writing grant proposals, etc.
  • Develops and documents standard operating practices and protocols, including the case sample size necessary to get results that reflect the target population as precisely as needed.
  • Recruits, trains, and supervises new volunteers.
  • Develops a training curriculum and coordinate training events for volunteers.
  • Presents the objectives of proposed alternative procedures to the judiciary to promote acceptance and understanding; recommends implementation scheduling of new program; evaluates program performance.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications



  • Bachelor’s degree in court administration, public administration, political science, business administration or closely allied field

AND

  • Three (3) years of experience in court administration and/or program development.

Relevant experience may substitute for the education requirement.

  • Analysis, evaluation, and efficient development of recommendations and options.
  • Ability to multi-task and effectively work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Communication skills both orally and in writing.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the interaction and mission of interested groups, boards, committees & judicial staff regarding services/support provided by AOC.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the justice system with specific focus on the Washington State court system; laws, procedures, and practices within appellate courts and courts of limited and general jurisdiction; trends in court administration.
