We are currently recruiting for a Fiscal Analyst with experience in Account Receivables to help lead the work for DOL's growing Financial Office.

Duties
As an Accounts Receivables Fiscal Analyst, you'll be the go-to person for issues related to collecting payments, unpaid debts, fraud, bankruptcy, and writing off debts. You'll lead the Debt Collection team, giving out daily tasks and making sure everyone meets their deadlines. Paying close attention to detail, you'll review financial data and assist in creating financial processes in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the State Administrative & Accounting Manual (SAAM). In addition, you will support your team during financial reviews, ensuring everything complies with accounting standards, the Office of Financial Management guidelines, and agency policies.
Some of what you will do:
- Provide technical guidance to agency Debt Collection and Dishonored Payment staff.
- Create financial reports using agency tools.
- Assist in analyzing financial reports and help develop procedures.
- Handle escalated calls, disputes, fraud issues, and take necessary actions.
- Track and monitor current or past contracts with Debt Collection Agencies.
- Review contracts related to Debt Collection, Fraud, Training, and Testing.
Qualifications
What you will bring to the role:
- Four (4) years of professional accounting experience.
- Two (2) years of professional accounting experience.
- 18 quarters or 12 semester hours of accounting, auditing, finance, or budgeting.

Two (2) years:
- Accurately use the ten-key numerical keypad on a computer or adding machine to enter numerical data by touch.
- Entering accurate accounting related information into an electronic accounting system.
- Analyzing and reconciling general or subsidiary ledger for validity and accuracy.
- Providing customer service by listening attentively, identifying needs or issues, providing options, and exercising knowledge of state laws and regulations to assist others.
- Conveying ideas and information in writing, using language that is appropriate to both the complexity of the topic and the knowledge and understanding of the reader.
- Performing research, gathering applicable records, and managing hardcopy and electronic accounting records.
- Using Microsoft Office, or similar software, including spreadsheet, word document, and email creation.
What may help set you apart:
- Experience inputting data accurately and reviewing transactions in Agency Financial Reporting System (AFRS) and creating Enterprise reporting reports.
- Knowledge of Office of Financial Management (OFM) Federal, and State regulations and guidelines.
- Experience successfully directing the work of others through mentoring, coaching, and team building.
- Additional experience in accounting theory, principles and practices, internal control procedures, financial management software applications, and GAAP.
- Experience interpreting, explaining, and training on financial transactions, agency's direction, policies, and procedures to internal or external customers and peers.
- Experience using DOL specific systems such as DRIVES, POLARIS, GenTax, and RevVal.

- This position requires in-office attendance at our Olympia location.
