Duties
As a Revenue Payment Desk Fiscal Analyst, you will play a vital role in ensuring the integrity of our financial reporting. You'll be responsible for receiving and posting payments by mail and lockbox while identifying and correcting any discrepancies. Your meticulous approach will be key in tracking and batching funds collected by DOL, contributing directly to our mission of helping every Washington resident live, work, drive, and thrive.
Some things you will be doing:- Review, batch, validate, and post payments.
- Prepare and reconcile financial documents.
- Prepare refunds as needed for unprocessed checks.
- Sort and manage daily mail.
- Return checks that cannot be processed with documentation provided.
- Returns and track checks not belonging to DOL on the returned check log.
Qualifications
What you will bring to the role:
- One (1) year of any combination of relevant education or professional accounting related experience.

One (1) year of the following experience:
- Providing customer service by listening attentively, identifying needs or issues, providing options for customers, and exercising knowledge of state laws and regulations to assist others.
- Conveying ideas and information in writing, using language that is appropriate to both the complexity of the topic and the knowledge and understanding of the reader.
What may help set you apart:
- One (1) year of using spreadsheet software, such as Excel to find and replace data, create, modify, print, and format spreadsheets, work with basic formulas and functions, use templates, styles, autoformat and multiple worksheets.
- One (1) year of experience using word processing software, such as Microsoft Word and personal information web manager.
- Experience entering accurate accounting related information into an electronic accounting system.
- Experience in accounting theory, principles and practices, internal control procedures, financial management software applications, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Experience analyzing and reconciling general or subsidiary ledger for validity and accuracy.
- Experience using DOL specific systems such as DRIVES, POLARIS, GenTax, or RevVal.
