The Department of Revenue seeks a detail-oriented program specialist to join its Information Governance Office (IGO) team as our Public Records and Discovery Specialist (Program Specialist 4) in Tumwater, WA.

Duties
The Public Records and Discovery Specialist is the primary resource to the agency's litigation/discovery program and uses the features of Microsoft Purview eDiscovery (eDiscovery) in support of public records requests (PRR), litigation hold notices (LHN), and discovery requests. This position has an operational responsibility using eDiscovery that allows search & retrieval of the department's records, working with department staff in identifying appropriate search parameters and terms to identify responsive records, while acting as a liaison with the Attorney General's Office (AGO) and other state agencies.
Reporting to the agency’s Public Records Officer, here are some other duties you can expect as the Public Records and Discovery Specialist:- Handles all the agency's litigation hold/discovery requests with the AGO.
- Coordinates and manages the communication of litigation hold and discovery requests received from the AGO's to Department staff.
- Manages, monitors, and coordinates the department's responses to the AGO's related to litigation holds and discovery requests arising from litigation.
- Develops, manages, organizes, and directs the research, analysis, and collection of records relevant to responses to the Public Records requests.
- Coordinates responses with others in defining needs, planning and developing courses of action, and providing technical assistance.
- Monitors and tracks compliance with statutes, policies, and procedures.
- Coordinates with division public records coordinators.
- Coordinates with other public records designees in responding to requests.
- Determines the level of research, method of analysis or study required, and provides responsive records.
- Conducts second reviews produced by other designees before the release of records.
Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in business or public administration, law, or closely allied field
AND
Two years of full-time professional-level experience managing, coordinating, and processing public records request, or working in related fields requiring compliance with complex statutes, policies, and procedures
AND
A high level of technical proficiency in Microsoft Purview eDiscovery techniques and usage.
Preference may be given to candidates with three or more years of full-time professional level experience coordinating, managing and responding to a high volume of public disclosure requests and experience with GovQA public records managements software.
Please Note: Qualifying additional years of experience may be substituted year for year for education.
