DSHS YVS Laundry Worker 2
Yakima Valley School Residential Habilitation Center is looking for someone who is ready to join a great team to help with the operation of a large industrial laundry facility. In this role you are responsible for scheduling, coordinating, and performing the completion of all phases of laundry activities and washroom operations while following pandemic guidelines. Restoration of soiled textiles, processing of clean and distribution of, to meet the needs of our customers with high-quality textiles in a timely cost-effective manner; join our team.
The working hours are Monday-Friday 6am-2:30pm. Opportunities performed on-site at this work location at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary.
Some of what you'll do:
- Processes linen for the entire institution to the expected standard of the Appointing Authority, such as performing tasks necessary to the daily decontamination of linen such as sorting, washer, and dryer deck activities as well as processing, folding, and filling outgoing orders
- Operates large commercial washers and dryers
- Change chemicals as needed
- Working in linen room filing daily linen orders
- Must utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure safety
- Follow written and oral directions
- Assist co-workers and students in performing a variety of laundry work

Who should apply?
Professionals with six months of experience as a Laundry Worker 1, or equivalent, in a large commercial or large industrial laundry. Completion of a training course in laundry operations may substitute for three months of the required experience.
