We're hiring a Psychology Affiliate to join our closely knit team as a Behavior Technician at the Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA)’s State Operated Community Residential (SOCR) Programs.
As a Behavioral Technician, you will responsible for implementing psychological, behavioral, and crisis intervention services. Additionally, you will provide modeling, coaching, and consultation with members of the consultation team.
Some of what you'll do
- Provide behavioral support services to DDA clients who participate in the State Operated Living Alternative (SOLA) Program
- Collect behavioral and other relevant data for inclusion in functional behavior assessments of clients
- Implement strategies for clients to decrease aggressive, destructive, and inappropriate behaviors that compromise their ability to remain in the community
- Provide support directly to clients during transitions into SOCR program
- Identify barriers to successful transition or participants into their home or during moves to another home
- Coordinate as needed with mental health experts and other professionals
- Evaluate the effectiveness of consultation and technical assistance provided through follow up activities
We are looking for professionals with:
A master’s degree in psychology from an accredited school or department of psychology and one year of relevant experience in designing and/or implementing comprehensive behavioral therapies for individuals with developmental disabilities and challenging behavior
Or
A bachelor’s degree in psychology, education, social work, or related field and 3 years of relevant experience in designing and/or implementing comprehensive behavior therapies for individuals with developmental disabilities and challenging behavior
(Employees obtain an Agency Affiliated Counselor certificate or higher certification or license from the Washington State Department of Health)
Desired:
- Effective communication with team members in both written and oral form
- Professional experience working with people who have intellectual and/or developmental disabilities
- Experience with Applied Behavior Analysis
- Experience in the successful design and implementation of effective behavioral intervention strategies to address complex behavioral issues
- Ability to teach skills to those with behavioral health issues
