Then this is the ideal opportunity for you. Join our Rehabilitation Services team at Eastern State Hospital (ESH) as an Institutional Counselor 3.
You will work as a member of treatment teams to plan and implement Active Treatment Programs, to organize patients’ active treatment and to improve processes for delivery of service. We're hiring multiple positions.
Opportunities performed on-site at this work location at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary.
Some of what you'll do:
- Develop systems for communication among treatment team members and group leaders to streamline patient treatment delivery and to monitor and document patient attendance and progress.
- Provide a minimum of 10 active treatment hours of Mental Health Education, coping skills or symptom management groups.
- Meet with patients to identify interests and strengths.
- Collaborate with the treatment teams and group leaders to facilitate improvements in patient schedules and programs to meet individual needs.
- Document patient progress towards treatment goals in computerized system.
- Work with other groups and committees as assigned to make recommendations for improvements to support hospital goals and objectives.
- Communicate effectively with management, peers, patients and the public.
- Participate with Rehab team members in facilitating hospital-wide special events and activities.
- Participate in the coordination and planning of special community activities.
- Working knowledge of group behavior and dynamics
- Working knowledge and application of personal conflict resolution
- Effective communication skills Experience using recovery model principles and de-escalation techniques
AND
Two years of experience working with clients in a psychiatric or mental health setting

Equivalent combination of education/experience
