DSHS FFA Warehouse Operator 2
Join our team as a Warehouse Operator at our newest behavioral health treatment campus, in Vancouver, WA. You will be an essential part of the Facilities, Finance, and Analytics (FFA) team that is dedicated to partnering with DSHS employees to access support, care, and resources for others.
As a Warehouse Operator, you will perform inventory and warehouse functions for the warehouses at this facility. Typical activities include placing orders, receiving and storing products, conducting inventories, and issuing supplies to staff. You would be on the ground floor of setting up a warehouse.

Some of what you'll do:
- Involved in initial setup of the warehouse preparing for opening of the campus facility
- Setting up locations to optimize workflow in receiving and picking orders
- Place received items in correct physical locations in the warehouse; monitor items with shelf life/expiration dates to reduce waste
- Issue items based on approved inventory orders, process issues daily into the inventory system
- Print and reconcile inventory transaction reports at the end of each day
- Perform reorder analysis using Reorder Analysis Report and visual inspection of stock levels
- Prepare requisitions and purchase requests, secure quotes when necessary
- Assist customers and vendors by answering phones and email inquiries
- Safely operate material-handling equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks
Who should apply?
Professionals with physical ability to do the required work and one of the following:
- High school graduation or GED plus one year of clerical or technical experience in retail clerking, warehousing, stock keeping, shipping, or receiving and operation of material handling equipment
- Equivalent education/experience
- Effective customer service skills, with the ability to interact professionally and empathetically
- Comprehensive knowledge of procurement methods, state purchasing laws, market analysis, inventory procedures, warehousing methods, and basic contract administration
- Proficient in organizing a large-capacity warehouse, operating warehouse equipment safely, performing physical labor, and lifting 50lbs continuously
- Skilled in warehouse inventory management systems and computer applications
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with a willingness to learn and adapt new skills related to purchasing, warehouse operations, and inventory control
