What to Expect
- Perform a variety of executive administrative support duties that are complex in nature and where judgment and initiative are required in resolving problems and making recommendations.
- Maintain Program Administrator and Deputy Program Administrator’s complex calendars utilizing the tools in Microsoft office and makes all out of state travel arrangements.
- Acts on behalf of the Program Administrator in administrative manners, including making decisions regarding the program's administrative policies and procedures.
- Creates, reviews, proofreads and formats correspondence on behalf of senior staff.
- Monitors, informs, and updates the Program Administrator on emerging issues and significant items that need immediate attention or require review action.
- Reviews and answers inquiries related to the I-405/SR 167 Program and determines action required.
- Provides visitors with administrative interface and support.
- Processes timesheets and other payroll duties.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent and One (1) year as an Administrative Assistant 4
- High school diploma or GED equivalent and Two (2) years as an Administrative Assistant 3
- A bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration or closely related field and three (3) years of administrative or supervisory experience. (Additional qualifying experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.)
It is preferred that qualified candidates also have:
- Knowledge of State government organization and administrative procedures; Federal and local government functions; office methods and procedures; research methods and data collection; State and agency functional and personnel policies.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products (Outlook. Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) as well as the internet.
- Ability to speak before groups effectively, compile written reports, obtain the cooperation of other departments and other government agencies, work effectively with others.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational and priority setting skills.
- Work a full-time schedule (40-hour weeks) and additional hours as business may require.
- Experience with collaboration tools such as Microsoft SharePoint.
- Experience composing, editing, and proofreading professional correspondence.

- The salary listed includes the legislative approved 5% salary premium for positions in King County.
- In addition to base salary, employees may be entitled to other forms of compensation depending on the type, duties, or location of the position. For union-represented positions, more information on other forms of compensation can be found in the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreements. Information on other compensation types for non-represented positions can be found in Chapter 357-28 of the Washington Administrative Code.
