Description
We are hiring for 2 Full-time permanent positions.
These position is expected to work a hybrid schedule, with 3 days of telework and 2 days at the Maple Park office. Final schedule will be determined by the supervisor.
The ideal candidate for the Fiscal Analyst 3 position in the Vendor Pay Unit is a detail-oriented, analytical, and independent professional with a strong background in fiscal analysis and accounting. This individual should have a proven track record of making informed decisions under general supervision within their area of responsibility.
ESD is seeking to hire a full-time, permanent Fiscal Analyst 3 (FA3) to support our Vendor Payments unit. Providing administration and oversight of Employment Security centralized-payment process and ensuring that payment practices comply with the various state and federal policies, laws, and rules. Processing timely payments for meals with meetings, Motorpool, state payments, Bank charges is critical in this role. Additionally, this position will provide technical training and guidance for purchasing to agency supervisors and staff.
Duties
- Reconcile and correct coding and payment discrepancies
- Perform accounting activities for compliance and completeness in Agency owned and Statewide systems.
- Research and reply to Fiscal questions via Email, TEAMS and voice using ESD policy and OFM’s Accounting Manual as your source documents
Back up other accounting staff. This includes:
- Prepare payments for processing when other staff are off or when workloads have a temporary increase requiring more resources to pay invoices accurately and on time

Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree, which includes 18 quarter or 12 semester hours in accounting, auditing, or budgeting and two years of relevant professional experience. Professional experience may substitute for education but not usually for the credit hours.
OR 2 years’ experience as a Fiscal Analyst 1
OR 1 year experience as a Fiscal Analyst 2
OR a combination of education and/or relevant experience equal to 6 years including credits
AND the following:
Experience will include computer skills with the use of MS Office or comparable systems for inputting data into databases, spreadsheets, word processing tools, and communicating with others via email and chat systems, which may include:
- Spreadsheets – create, modify, print, and format spreadsheets including work with formulas, data, and functions.
- Internal information management tool or system – entering, tracking, and monitoring information.
- Word processing tools – create, format, edit tables; preview, print, and save documents; as well as using standard functions to select, edit, copy, paste, format, headers, and footers, use spell check, and create bulleted and numbered lists.
- MS Outlook or comparable emailing systems to compose and respond to correspondence electronically

- Must be able to pass an Unemployment Insurance (UI) Claim & Benefit Information Review.
