The administration of these programs requires expert knowledge of state and federal laws, regulations and policies pertaining to the programs. The training and technical assistance provided to program sponsors ensures compliance with federal and state regulations and supports sponsors in providing nutritious meals and promotion of nutrition education. This position will also lead and coordinate Farm to Child Nutrition Programs, collaborating with internal programs and external partners to promote Farm to School, Summer, and ECE initiatives. Responsibilities include developing activities, events, and resources to support local food procurement and nutrition education. The role also ensures program staff receive updates and integrates Farm to CNP efforts across all child nutrition programs. This position requires travel within assigned region and to the OSPI main office in Olympia. This travel may include multiple overnight stays, with a large portion of mandatory travel being during the summer months (June-August). Traveling may also occur during times of possible inclement weather. This is an Administrative Program Specialist 2 position.
